Merry Thanksmas!

As 2013 comes to a close, I honestly couldn't be more glad that it's over!
It has been one of the most difficult years of my life!

I am looking forward... To 2014, and all the years to follow with a renewed sense of self and hope for all of life's possibilities!   As I restore my birth name and lose the emotional baggage that found me in the last decade, I feel light, new and reborn!

2014 is the Chinese year of the horse... Which is all about new friends, rebuilding, moving on, success!  And it couldn't be more appropriate a time for it!

I feel as though I survived a long, nasty tornado in which I was in and out of consciousness and at times I simply gave up and willed God to take me.  It might sound dramatic, but I assure you it is an accurate portrayal of not just the last year but the last decade, and then some... of my life.

All this to say that with all new beginnings, there are endings.

This will be my last blog entry to this blog.
TheSugdenFam, is simply no more.  It is a lost cause.
It's time I accept that and put my energy into rebuilding rather than to restoring or trying to hold together what's broken.

I will not have my kids for Christmas this year, which is awful.  No way around it, it sucks!
The kids have declared it not Christmas if I'm not there... which is very sweet of them.
So we had our Christmas on Thanksgiving morning.  December 25th will be just another day, this year.
A day that I will be sipping a drink with an umbrella in it on a warm sandy beach!
Because when life gives you lemons, make a cocktail!

Very grateful to have had my Mom here for two weeks!  We celebrated Christmas and Thanksgiving and also her 60th Birthday!!  Which doesn't feel possible!  I'm becoming increasingly aware of the fact that I may not have that many years left with my folks on this earth... and it's sobering!
I'm beginning to grasp how quick and short life truly is!

As much as I love Texas and our home here... it's got me thinking about heading back west where we belong!  With the love and support of our family!  Still undecided, time will tell I suppose.

I love you Mom, more than words can say!  You are my rock!  My home!  My foundation!
Thank you for all you do for me and your grandbabies!  Thank you, for being you!
My one true thing!  I could not be here without you!!
My final post is in dedication to you!
